April Showers

We've had some busy days since the last update with continued assessments, tests and the struggle to keep all checks in balance.  Tricia has had increasing physical activity which has been great to see.  She has gone from taking her first steps a couple of days ago, to now walking a few laps around the ward.  Her medical team are always measuring fluid intake, watching drug interactions and of course trying to ensure she gets enough rest.

As most of you who have ever been hospitalized know, achieving the resting state is very difficult. Tricia is a seasoned and experienced patient, but this recent stay has been very trying.  Visitors are still not “what the doctor ordered” just yet, but we hope that should change once the routine slows down a bit.

Tomorrow starts a new week and a new month and we expect Tricia will have some sunnier days ahead.

Way to go Tricia. I am cheering for you all the way from Melfort!! Just take one step at a time. Sometimes it helps to drown out the hospital noise with some quiet uplifting music. I pray you find some rest. My continued prayers for you complete healing and recovery. May God increase your strength daily and your faith grow stronger as you conquer each new battle. Hugs.

Thank you for the update, Tricia is well-loved by her friends and colleagues at the Cancer PAC & SCN. Is there something we can do to show her how special she is to us, to cheer her on or brighten her room?
I am sure many have reached out individually, a few have sent me messages to share with Tricia. Dr Churcher, Ray Clark & Christine Ferguson send their love and continue to pray for Tricia, for daily strength and wisdom for her care team. We are so grateful that she has the wonderful support of her family and friends. Please let us know if there is something practical or comforting that we can do.

๐Ÿ’ŒDear Tricia,

We had to read this post a few times to imagine you up and walking around the ward.๐Ÿšถ You should have seen my face!๐Ÿ˜„ Clearly everyone on the medical team is keeping a close eye on you, but you must be making the kind of progress that astounds even them.๐ŸŽ†

Hearing that you have already gone from taking your first steps,๐Ÿพ two days ago, to doing a few laps around the ward๐Ÿšถ has made us wonder at your determination.❤ If you can find such a steady way to increase your physical activity, you are also going to figure out how to achieve the restful state essential to your recovery.๐Ÿจ If anyone can do it, you can! You have so much experience to draw on, the wisdom to apply it and the will to make good things happen for yourself and others.๐Ÿ˜

I can imagine that all of Tricia's Trotters have itchy feet tonight.๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿƒ They'll be seeing themselves falling into step with you, moving into a brand new month and anticipating better days on the road ahead.⛅

๐Ÿ˜ซWhenever it comes time for you to sleep, Tricia๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค, just imagine your army of supporters standing guard over your mind at rest 24/7.

๐Ÿ’ŒLove you lots,
Louise and David

Love coming from Ontario. Earlier today, we saw a young bird resting safely under the protective eave of our daughter's cottage. We thought of you and the protective love of God offering you protection. Please know that you are always in our thoughts and that we continue to send you hugs and healing energy, no matter where we happen to be......much love, Heather and Bob
