Making good progress at home. Funny how helpful it is to be in control of your own pain and drain management ;) Managed to figure out how to have a shower with these drains on each side which made me feel a lot better physically and mentally. Mobility a bit better every day and once the drains are out I'm sure I'll improve more. Had a few visitors as well today and I think all thought I looked pretty strong considering everything.
Little Lucy is slowly figuring out that she can's jump up on me right now...not to say she likes it, but just like I feel about the whole "round 4" scenario, can't do much about it so she is just adjusting. And as the boys said Friday, "if you kick a field goal, you get a field goal. If you get cancer, you get cancer." Davis followed that up with "yeah, but 4 times, really?" Dogs and kids...the bare truth.

Thanks Tricia. I loved seeing you today and I want to tell everyone how beautiful you look. You are incredible, and your strong yet gentle spirit sure shines through those blue eyes! We continue praying for your constant improvement. I could certainly see that you are on the road to recovery, and being at home is obviously the best place to be.

Well, Tricia, your "round four" comment really hit home for us tonight. We have this sharp image of you being back in the ring, doing all that you must because that's the way it is for you right now. It's clear that Jack and Davis are in your corner, cheering you on. Even Little Lucy has to let you get on with the task at hand.
We understand that every small step is progress for you. So tonight we celebrate that first refreshing shower, your ever-increasing movement, the encouraging presence of visitors, and the strength that others see in you in these early days after your surgery.
As fragile as you may feel at this time, you are a fighter. Your corner is crowded with supporters and we are right there, too. From where we stand, we can see that you are on your way to yet another victory. As the boys might say, "If you win, you win". And that's the truth!
