Cake and Champagne

A quick post from New York City...

Last weekend my cutest twin nephews Davis and Jack turned one...it was a gorgeous day of delicious cakes, water play and fun! It's hard to believe they're already a year old and so grown up.

This weekend mom and I made it back to NYC, my first trip since I left my life there unexpectedly last July. It's great to be back. Last night we toasted life with champagne while out with my friend Colleen, and tonight we're off to the Tony Awards! Cheers!

Rolling on the Foothills

A quick update - my chemo went well Wednesday and blood counts continue to be normal. My CT scan of my chest did not show any new development, but continues to look like (as the doctors say) someone took crowbar to them. They are not concerned about this image as long as my pulminary functions tests continue to improve. I have one next week so we'll see what I can do with those lungs then! All in all, quite positive day.

Another great day was yesterday. Tasha had to wait until then to get her full pathology results, which indicated that there was still cancerous tissue removed in the surgery but that the margins looked clear and she does not have to do radiation. While she continues Herceptin transfusions and takes other treatment medications for the next few years, she is at least coming out of the rockiest part of the treatment plan and we are now both "rolling on the foothills" of our roller coaster trip. Time to celebrate!
